Portrait Guide

How long does it take for me to receive the photos?

Photos are sent within 3 weeks of the shoot.

What should I wear?

When it comes to the “AHH what in the world should I wear?!?” moment, it’s simple. Wear something you feel confident in. The outfit that’s going to look the best on camera is whatever makes you feel the best inside and out, so find something that you adore. However, there are a few things you should probably stay away from. Number one would be bright and flashy colors. I recommend sticking to soft or neutral colors because they always look the best on camera. Ladies, make sure your bra straps are hidden, or opt for wearing a cute bralette to add some spunk to your outfit. Also, you should probably stay away from wearing shoes.. just kidding. But really!!! If you’re down to run around barefoot, we will have a good time. Shoes are overrated anyways 😉

How can I prepare for the photoshoot?

There are a few things you can do to enhance your features. Number one, make sure your nails are done. They don’t have to be painted or complete with the whole acrylic set, but definitely file them and make sure they are clean. Also, fake eyelashes are your friend. They will definitely open your eyes up and make them POP. Amen to that. And don’t forget to accessorize!! It allows flexibility in layering an outfit. Hats, scarves, glasses, jewelry, etc.. take advantage of adding those little details to help individualize your style and personality.

Can my friend/mom tag along with us?

Well I’m not going to say no to that, but I definitely don’t recommend it. From past experience, I find that people are a lot more comfortable when it’s just me and them. When you have a second pair of eyes on you the whole time, it can get uncomfortable. You may feel like a deer in headlights. I try to create a calm and relaxing environment during the shoot, and that’s often easier to do without other people surrounding us.

Any overall tips?

Yes. Have fun. These photos are meant to capture you in this stage of life that is passing by oh so quickly. Don’t stress about it. If you’re biting your nails thinking about having to face the camera, practice posing in front of a mirror with different facial expressions so that you’ll feel more comfortable in front of a camera. All in all, do whatever you feel is right and stay true to yourself. I want to get to know your quirky, sassy, and beautiful self and most importantly, be able to capture that. So be! your! self!

I’ll try not to post the embarrassing shots on Instagram. 😉
